The Royal Hospital Chelsea is undertaking a site-wide Development Plan, for which planning consents are in place, which includes the construction of new buildings together with the restoration and repurposing of Sir John Soane’s Stable Block (Grade II) as a Visitor Centre.

As part of this project, we have been asked to draft some views that could open a vision for the future of this space. The proposal had the objective of enhancing the collection and define the visitor journey, ensuring that plans are integrated into the design and construction process.

The exhibition design includes display tables, narrow units for displaying badges and medals and wall-mounted boards for projections.

Particularly inspired by the exhibition "Spitzmaus Mummy in a Coffin and Other Treasures" from Wes Anderson and Juman Malouf; we have proposed display sets that are simple and classic in construction therms but with enough presence to put the collection at centre of vitiator's attention.
